Question

LF Cloud - Update Word Document - Table Merge - Unable to update values

asked on February 25, 2022

Hello everyone!

I have been assisting one of my clients with merging a Forms collection into a Word document table.  However, we have run into issues that I am not sure are by design or perhaps not fully implemented yet.  My research into help files, documentation and other answers posts have been inconclusive.

Essentially, the help file for Cloud and Table Merges, mentions that you can type/use tokens in the Values column, however it is strictly a dropdown that I cannot seem to fill with anything.  Is this expected behavior?  Thanks!

"In the Value column, type a value or insert a token. The field will be replaced with this value when the workflow runs."

Do you have a Find Entries or some other activity that returns results as a table? Forms collections are passed through as individual multi-value tokens for each column not a data set at this time, so they are not available.

Hi Miruna!

Thanks so much for responding.  We weren't using a Find Entry at this moment, but it sounds like for our use case, we will need to try something else.

Our backup plan was to use a spreadsheet in Data Management to import the collection values, query it to update the Word doc, then clear out the spreadsheet for another submission.  But the issue there would be the possible multiple submissions in too close of a timeframe and overlapping.
