Question

Quick fields is there a way to correct Zone OCR data after it is captured?

asked on February 16, 2022

I have a QF session where I am capturing the permit number on a page with Zone OCR - using that data I'm using an external database to look up the other fields I need (owner, address, etc.)  If the capture of the permit number is not accurate the look-up will fail.  Is there a way for an end-user using QF Scanning to correct this data after the process runs so the data look-up will work?

Thanks,

Hi Sandy,

It sounds like you want to use Real-Time Lookup.  This feature is supported in both Quick Fields and Quick Fields Scanning and lets you run a lookup in response to a user manually changing a field value after scanning a document.  The same lookup also runs if the field is populated by the document class during processing.

Note that there a a few limitations related to Real-Time Lookup in Quick Fields Scanning that aren't present in Quick Fields:

  • Real-time lookup cannot be triggered to run when a key is pressed.
  • Real-Time Lookup always runs when a document is processed even if the When a field changes option is selected for the process trigger. (145069)

However, since you want to respond to the field value changing, those shouldn't interfere with your scenario.
