Feature Request: Ability to set different Page Widths with Pagination

asked on February 14, 2022 Show version history

I want to be able to have a wider width on tab two than I do on tab one. This could be described as landscape formatting versus portrait on each page of a form. The use case is for a travel request. The first page is portrait orientation as it is just travel details, but the second tab is a table detailing all of the expenses and needs to be landscape to allow for the best table formatting. Changing the width of the 2nd tab/page changes all tabs/pages.

This isn’t possible with the native functionality in Forms.  Pagination isn’t actually like different forms.  Functionally it operates similar to sections with predefined field rules to show/hide them.

If you are pre-11 or using the classic editor, then you might be able to get some Javascript working that changes the CSS of the form when certain pages are selected or to make page 2’s “section” to appear wider than the form.  However, that may not appear as cleanly as expected, and likely would not work the same way on the version of the form archived to your repository.

A simpler solution would be to find a form width that is wide enough for what you want on page 2, but also acceptable for page 1.  Or to actually run pages 1 and 2 as separate forms with the user submitting page 1 and then having page 2 automatically assigned to them.

Also, please consider editing your post to change it from a “discussion” to a “question” so that it can eventually be marked as solved.

I added your idea into our internal feature requests list and we will evaluate this idea later when plan for new releases.
