Question

LF Cloud don't support to use [service name] to connect oracle DB currently

asked on February 3, 2022 Show version history

Hi,

LF cloud doesn´t support to use ServiceName to connect oracle DB currently, so we necessarily have to connect to the DB using the name of the node(SID).

This could cause connection problems, since we don't know if in Oracle version 12c release 1, connections by SID are supported in the new single tenant architecture.

We are concerned because our customers will soon be upgrading their Oracle version.

Could someone confirm ous if this feature is already on the roadmap?

Regards,

Hi,

The implementation of this new feature (connect to oracle DB via service name) is done. We'll release the new feature on end of this month/next month based on test/package progress.

Hi,

This feature is released. Check the "Use as Oracle Service Name" in order to use the "Database" text field as ServiceName. If this checkbox is unchecked, the "Database" field will be used as SID.

Hello,

We tried to implement the service name with one of our clients, but it was not possible.

Should we use a specific Oracle client for that connection? Laserfiche Cloud uses TSNames to make this connection?
