Question

Remove metadata elements from Quick Fields Scanning

asked on January 24, 2022

I have a couple of questions related to the metadata pane in Quick Fields Scanning.

  1. Can a multi-valued field be forced to display as a single value? For this specific situation, scanner operators will only ever add a single value. Would make things easier if we were able to hide the additional box that pops up.
  2. Hid the Add/Remove Fields button. We don't want scanner operators doing this; they will only ever use the fields configured for the session. My guess is this is a feature request, but maybe there's an option I'm missing.

Thank you.

Sorry, neither of those ideas are currently possible.

For the first one, you could sort of work around it by using a similar template with a similar field, except that it's a single value, and then use Workflow to copy the fields over after the document has been reviewed.

For the latter one, you can do something similar to what you want in Quick Fields document revision by disabling managing metadata for scanner operators, but unfortunately Quick Fields Scanning does not enforce that policy.  I'll add this to our feature request backlog.
