Question

Public form spamming

asked on January 11, 2022

Hi All,

I am looking for suggestions on how a client can post a Public form without getting spammed. The initial idea for the form is for wedding enquiries / bookings and would not be able to pass variables via the web address etc.

Thanks in advance

Each Laserfiche form has honeypot captcha built into it to help prevent bots spam your site. Forms also has the ability to use RECAPTCHA 2.0. You can configure it by following the instructions here.

I have asked a similar question on the Forums just now. I cannot find where the Secret Key value comes from. I have the Site Key and that works.

After you create account, you will need to go to the reCAPTCHA Admin page and create/register a new site.

When registering your new site you have to choose reCAPTCHA v2 from the reCAPTCHA type list and then choose the "I am not a robot Checkbox" option. Fill out the rest of the information on the form as needed.

After you create the Site, you will need to go back to the Admin and verify your site is selected in the top left and then click the cog in the top right to go to Settings.

Once on the Settings page you can click reCAPTCHA Keys and it will give you the Site Key and Secret Key.

I hope that helps.
