Forms - How to fix errors filling out a form as a user

asked on January 10, 2022

When you get the following message as a user filling out a form, how do you know where your errors are?

Everything looks good to me on the form, none of the fields are marked red.

On this particular form, if I fill it out in one shot without making any mistakes it goes through, if I make any mistake I am never able to correct all my mistakes because it is not clear what the error is.

When you see the error message "There are error(s) on the form, please fix the error(s) before submitting", it is supposed to have inline error under the individual field to point which field has problem.

If you don't see the inline error, it should be a bug, can you open a support case with the exported business process and record a video to illustrate the issue?

It must be a problem with the new canvas option, nothing is highlighted red, I am asking that they try the original canvas to design the form.

There is a known issue with the new form designer that if there is a required but hidden field inside a read-only section, you will get the error when submit form. It will be fixed with Forms Update 2 which will comes out by the end of this month.

Chad

If you have required fields being hid by JavaScript/CSS, the user will not see them, but they will still be required.  Make sure if you hide a required field through code, then also remove the required attribute.
