Laserfiche Forms 10.4 URL Infinite Redirect Loop - URGENT

asked on January 6, 2022

Laserfiche Forms keeps redirecting back and forth on the address bar when trying to go to the page.

At first, it takes you to the sign-in page like normal where you can put in your username and password, but after clicking Submit, the page just starts going nuts.

It's flipping back and forth rapidly between the two addresses shown in the attachments. This is stemming from a larger issues that we were having with an expired certificate on our Forms Server.

Anyone experience this before? Our forms processes are totally stalled due to this.

Hi Addison,

I replied earlier but must have managed to delete my reply somehow. I had this happen recently when setting up the Web Client in the DMZ, and the fix was allowing sufficient permissions to the certificate(s) in question for the relevant IIS app pool. In my case, it was the WebClientAppPool. I honestly don't remember if it was the SSL certificate in my case or the certificate used to create the trust relationship between my LFDS machine and my web server. But this was the fix with the exact behavior you're experiencing.

If you open mmc.exe, add the Certificates add in, find your certificate(s) and right-click, and then click 'Manage Private Keys,' you'll be able to add permissions for your FormsAppPool.

I'm interested in what the solution is here if this doesn't help. Keep me updated!

Hi Addison,

I had this issue with the web client recently. The solution was giving the relevant IIS app pool (in my case, the web client app pool) permissions to the certificates. Issue resolved immediately after that.

I believe this is done by right-clicking your certificate(s) in MMC, choosing All Tasks->Manage Private Keys, and giving the app pool permission from there.

Let me know if that gets you any closer to fixing this!

Have you replaced the certificate for Forms server with a new one?

Thanks for the replies, turns out this was related to an expired certificate. We had to rebind and line up the certificates between the LFDS and the Forms Server, and then we had to add the DNS Identity lines into the appropriate config files.

This has happened to me on more than one occasion, and was (temporarily) fixed by clearing my browser cookies for my Laserfiche Avante domain. For me, this is more of a workaround than a resolution.
