Web Client - Saved Searches Automatically go in LF11

asked on December 30, 2021 Show version history

Greetings,

We updated to Laserfiche Web Client 11.0.2109.7 this past week. The users reported that the Save Searches now automatically goes without them clicking Search. The Search will sit there and spin because the saved search is trying to return over 200,0000 documents before the users have a chance to narrow the search down by data on the fields of the saved search that they want to search on. The users don't want the search to go automatically before they have a chance to enter information on the fields they want to search on. Is there anyway to prevent the Saved Searches from automatically searching before the users can enter field data to narrow the search?

Thank You,

Zach Merrill

Hi Zach and Jeff,

The saved search drop-down in the main folder browser ribbon is a new feature in version 11 that allows users to quickly launch and run saved searches with minimal clicks. The prior behavior of loading up a search criteria with the intention to edit it before launching the search is still present if you click 'search filters' (previously 'Advanced'), where you can load up the saved search directly in the filters view just as you could do in prior versions. Hope that helps!

Hey Zach,

Was there ever a resolution for this?

Thanks,

Jeff Curtis

Hey Jeff,

We haven't found a resolution yet other than telling users to click Cancel on the search. We also haven't heard anything back from Laserfiche on this Answers post yet in regards to the issue.

Is there a way to hide the 'Saved Searches' option so that users will only have the 'Search Filters' to select?
