Question

Is this a version 11 feature accidentally added to the version 10 Admin guide?

asked on December 29, 2021 Show version history

The Outflow item in the admin guide states "You can use the up and down arrows, and the grips on the top right, to order the outflow paths. When the conditions for more than one outflow path are met, the first set of conditions is used."

As you can see my outflows pane does not use arrows or grips for ordering the conditional paths.

Is this a version 11 feature?

Only the outflow of exclusive gateway support use up and down arrows to change the order of the outflow paths, we will update the documentation to make it clear.

Hi James,

I do not recall this being any different before, but I would recommend using a gateway when splitting off into multiple outflows.

It seems to me that you need need either an exclusive or inclusive gateway after your workflow service task to help control the outflow.

If only one path is to be taken after the workflow service task, use an exclusive gateway and set the desired conditions. This gateway will also allow you to control the order in which each condition is checked.

Alternatively if both routes could possibly be taken, use an inclusive. This gateway won't allow you to control the order in which each condition is checked as it will check every condition every time.

More information on gateways can be found in the link below.
