Question

Email archive cache

asked on December 21, 2021

We have recently started using the email archiving service.  We have run into an issue where the server ran out of space and also the password for the service  it runs under expired.  We have fixed both these issues, but we now have a large Cache file which hasn't changed size since the archiving service restarted.  A large number of files are sitting in the Email archive Service Working folder and aren't moving.  Should we move these back into the main folder to be picked up again by the service?  Wil the cache file eventually go away (Its 24GB+)?

Hi Mary,

Which kind of import profile you have created? It seems you are using IMAP. If so, could you try the following steps:

  • stop Email archiving service
  • delete the cache file
  • move emails in working folder to main folder
  • restart Email archiving service

For IMAP, You don't need to worry about data loss, as the emails are stored in your IMAP server.

Hope this information helpful to you.
