Laserfiche Repository - Readonly fields

How to make fields read only upon document is saved / approved on repository.

That is once a particular document field is set to Approved, upon save users can't modified the the metadata for this document.

Note that i m working with document management only and not Laserfiche Form.

Hi Arvind,

If you want to avoid the hassle of creating another template with the set of fields, an another approach would be to move the approved document to another folder and give the user/group "Read access" to this specific folder. Then create a shortcut for the approved document in the User folder. This will make the  document fields read only.

In this situation I've created a read only version of the template.  When the status is changed, workflow is kicked off and the template is reassigned and the values are copied.

Hi James,

Thnx, same solution applied.

Would much appreciate in future Laserfiche can consider this features to make fields readonly on save document.

For me it make sense that once a document is saved and validated, users should not have the right to change same.
