Question

Weblink- Azure Managed Services

asked on December 16, 2021

Hello,

We have a customer who would like to move their Weblink to Azure Managed Services, so you don’t actually have a server but you are able to publish web sites.

Reason for this move is, their on-premise server will be deprecated at the end of the year.

Is this process possible?

Appreciate the feedback,

Jeff Curtis

Hi Chris,

Laserfiche web components do not officially support deployment on Azure App Service at this time, nor is adding support on the roadmap. Last I checked, Azure App Service doesn't support a number of features that Laserfiche web apps use, such as Event Logging.

While you might technically be able to deploy Laserfiche web components this way with some hacky efforts, it's not a supported configuration and we won't be able to help you.

Customers should deploy Laserfiche components on Azure VMs, which they'll need anyway for Laserfiche Server, Workflow, etc. Use the new D/Da_v5 series VMs for the best performance if they're available in the customer's Azure region.

Cheers,
Sam

Hi Sam

Is there anything new in regards to support for:

1. Azure App Service

2. Azure Container Apps

3. Azure Kurbenetes AKS

I have a large customer who has significant depth in Azure and were inquiring.
