Question

Is there a way to hard-code a data connection to a Windows Account in QF?

asked on December 14, 2021

Setting up Quick Fields Scanning and it needs to be able to do a couple of lookups from another system (MS SQL database, separate instance from the repository). Our DBAs insist on only using domain credentials rather than SQL-specific accounts. And these scanner operators shouldn't have access to the database via their AD accounts.

Is there any way to set up a lookup that will pass hard-coded domain credentials? I have been unable to figure it out in either Quick Fields or as an ODBC data source.

No. When set to Windows Authentication, Quick Fields uses the currently logged in user (or the service account if the session is run through Quick Fields agent).
