SAML authentication being requested at every logon - Win Client 11

asked on November 15, 2021

Hi All,

During the login sequence, users are redirected to the Microsoft 365 login experience (as expected).

The user is presented with a couple of options – one is to remember me and the other is to not prompt for multi factor authentication for 90 days.  Neither of these options work on the LF Win Client 11.  My understanding of how this mechanism works is that the application is responsible for caching/persisting the SAML token and cookies for the session.  Currently, within the LF Win Client login experience it requires the user to login every time they open the app.

Is this expected behaviour?

Cheers!

Hi Chris,

This is expected behavior at this time because the login dialog uses a one-time browser, similar to a browser running in incognito mode. I have filed a feature request with the team to consider your use case.

Hi Chase,

Is this still the case with the latest version of the LF11 Desktop Client?
