Not able to create Custom Web Search or links

asked on November 12, 2021 Show version history

We recently installed weblink 10.2 we are using the web-based designer to create some custom search portal for our weblink. It allows me to name the form and add the search criteria. Once I I click save and go back to look at the form. It does not appear on the list?

Once you created the Search on the Search Form Tab (Welcome Page), go to the Custom Links Tab and choose the + button. When the popup appears, choose the Search Form option from the Drop Down, this will then show you the Searches you have created. Select the Search you want to add to the Welcome Page and add a Title to display

It doesn't create the custom search form for me to then add the new custom link? I'm still stuck on step 1.

What you are saying is that when you create the Search Form and Save it it is does not appear in the Search Form List

If Refreshing the page, Clear Cache, etc changes nothing, I suggest you contact your solution provider to open a support ticket.

I figured out my issue!

It was a security rights issue!!! ..  I take a copy of the original Web Files directory and make multiple copies to build different weblink portals.

C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Weblink\Weblink\ Web Files..

So when I was trying to change the background on a new site called "Staff" this error came up. When so I compared the security rights from the original "Web Files" directory to the new one I copied called "Staff" I noticed 2 things.

Web Files directory did not inherit rights from the folder above and the group called "Users" had full control.

Staff directory I created since I did it with Copy and Paste. It copied the security rights from the folder above called Weblink. The "Users" group in this folder only had read rights. Once I modified it to full control the issue was resolved.
