Question

Records retention

asked on October 27, 2021

I have documents/folders eligible for destruction. However, I decide that some documents from that list must be kept longer for 6 more months. How do I set that, so that those records are not destroyed and stay in repository for 6 more months?

In the Laserfiche Administration Console make sure that your primary retention schedule has an alternate configured. You'll see in the retention schedule properties that there's a tab for "Alternate Instructions" to set this up.

Have you considered setting up an alternate retention schedule? Would that work for your scenario?

I do not see 'select Alt. Retention from the list on the left' . How do I assign an alternate retention schedule so that I see that option?

If we update the metadata, will the retention “counter” restart or can item still be deleted based on original setting?
