Question

Loss of Excel functions

asked on October 19, 2021

I'm using a DAX formula in PowerPivot in order to display text in a Pivot Table where numeric information typically appears.  Once I save the file to Laserfiche, I get the shown error message when refreshing the Pivot Table. Are features in Excel limited when working off a file stored in Laserfiche?

We have some other workbooks that reference additional files, like other Excel workbooks, Access files, and SQL tables that we haven't attempted to move into Laserfiche.  For files like this, will everything work as normal as long as all needed files are stored in Laserfiche, or should I expect to run into similar issues?  Do we just need to learn more about how or where to store database files in order for these to work as expected?

When a document is uploaded into Laserfiche Repository it is given a unique Laserfiche name, and not stored as the original name, so if your Excel sheet is linked or referencing other files that are then stored in Lasefiche, those connections will likely break as the name\location are going to be different.
