Question

Web Client URL Configuration

asked on October 14, 2021

Hi Everyone,

I have a concern regarding to the Web Client URL.

It's possible that the URL of web client can be call as the server name only?

Example: I type the URL like this "www.webserver.com/laserfiche" the Laserfiche Web Client login screen show, it's possible to type the web client URL like this "www.webservername.com" without the "/Laserfiche" extension? And redirect to the Laserfiche Web Client login screen?

If these possible, how to configure or where to configure it and if any one have a white paper can you share it.

Hopping any one can help me.

Cheers!

There are a few different ways to do it. This seems like the simplest: https://serverfault.com/questions/1005936/iis-url-rewrite-redirect-root-to-subfolder

Hi @Brian,

Sorry for replying to you too late.

I appreciate you're given answers, but I got confused on the part of " to your web.config" from the link you've given to me. My question is this "web.config" is the "web.config" file on the Laserfiche Web Client Configuration Folder? Also, can I configure the Forms URL Like this "www.webservername.com" If they are on the same server together with Web Client?

Hoping you can help me.

Regards.

I believe this is referring to the web.config for the root site, which might be in c:\inetpub\wwwroot for the default site.

Are you asking if you can use the same url for both applications? I don't understand how that would work.

Hi @Brian,

I try to navigate the c:\inetpub\wwwroot but I can't find the web.config.

Regarding your question, Yes, I'm asking if I can use the same URL for both Web Client and Forms.

Regards.
