Question

Question

Unsubmitted form times out too soon

asked on September 23, 2021

We have a form that is essentially a meeting notes form and a spot for everyone to sign that they were present during the meeting.  If conversation lags too long, the form loses connection (not an IT person so that may not be accurate) and the person overseeing the meeting has to reload the form and start entering the notes all over again.

Other than having to Save as Draft every few minutes, is there another way to control how long a form can remain open awaiting further field inputs?

Hi Connie,

Are those user anonymous or authenticated? If authenticated user, is 'Session Timeout' in Forms Configuration - User Authentication turned on?

Thanks, Ziyan.  The user I'm thinking of was an authenticated user.  I think, with this form, all of them would be.  I will check this out.  Thank you.

Does the "User Authentication" setting (I'm assuming you're referring to something on the server that is a setting for all forms) have anything to do with this setting that can be changed on each form?

I've never known whether or not I should be changing this.

No. They are not relevant.

User Authentication is about how user authenticate with Forms.

The validation level controls how you want Forms to validate filled data on submission. The work is done when user clicks the submit button, and it will redirect user to error page if validation fails.
