Error installing Visual C ++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

asked on September 16, 2021

Hello there
We are trying to install workflow server, it does not say that it could not install the following components “Install Visual C ++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (x64)” and “Install Visual C ++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (x86)”, when we try installing it manually does not say that they are already installed.
Has it happened to someone else?

Thanks

Ricardo Cairo

Microsoft has combined the Visual C++ Redistributables for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, and 2019.  See The latest supported Visual C++ downloads

As long as this is installed, you can bypass the failed Prerequisites

This is likely the same issue described here. You can follow Bert's suggestion or you can run the installer with logging on and open a support case so we can take a closer look.

<WF Installer Location>setuplf.exe -log <path to folder for log files>

Just to clarify, when you attempted to install these manually it was able to install them or did that still fail?

I have run into this previously and what normally gets it worked out is either installing them manually or rebooting the server and trying again (sometimes a pending update is blocking the install) or sometimes I have to do both.

Sadly I don't know the root cause of this issue though.

Hi Valerie

when trying to install them manually it says that it is already installed.

I would try rebooting the server and trying to run the installer again.
