Lag when splitting documents using 'Move Pages To' in LF10 Web Client

asked on September 8, 2021

One of our users is experiencing a 3+ minute wait when right-clicking on a document thumbnail and selecting 'Move Pages To' using the LF10 Web Client (10.4.2.347).  Once the Move Pages To dialog window appears, the 'bread crumb' links are not displaying for her:

This is the only user for which this behavior has been observed.  In other cases, the Move Pages To dialog box displays nearly instantaneously:

Details:

lfs.exe version 10.4.2.380
Google Chrome version 93.0.4577.63 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Attempting to move second page of a two-page document.
User can ultimately split the document, but the wait and lack of choice as to the destination folder are not ideal.

Is this a problem with a known solution?

I haven't heard this reported before. It's interesting that it only affects certain users, since I can't think of any user settings that are relevant here. You might want to have that user try from another machine or browser to confirm that it is the user and not some other variable.

For troubleshooting, I would have them open the browser dev tools (F12) and reproduce the error. You would be looking for errors in the console - sometimes something goes wrong and the user isn't informed, leading them to think they are still waiting for an operation to complete. If there are no errors, you'll want to confirm that there was some kind of network request that took a long time - anything over a few seconds would be suspicious here.

If you haven't tried to investigate a problem like this before, you can work with your Solution Provider to open a support case.

This is all good advice.

Also, I'm the SP in this case!
