Documents inherit folder metadata

When metadata is applied to a folder does Laserfiche automatically apply that metadata to all subfolders and documents?  Is there a way to configure this so it does not, if so how would that be done?

Metadata is not automatically applied to subfolders and documents in a folder.

Is there a workflow activity that would do that?

Not a single consolidated activity, You would need to loop through the child entries and copy the metadata to them.

You could also set template defaults that will inherit values from the parent.
