Question

Snapshot network printer

asked on September 7, 2021

If I install SnapShot as a shared network printer - do users need to have a Laserfiche full user license to use it?

Also if I don't have a Laserfiche full user license are there limitation to what I can do?  Can I direct the printed document to any folder within Laserfiche and can I populate a template?

Thanks

Sandy

Hi Sandy,

I'm fairly certain you need a full license to use Snapshot to send documents to Laserfiche. Using snapshot requires the ability to create documents, and you need a full license for that to be possible.

You can print this document all day to a network folder, and use Import Agent, and it can import with a template, but not metadata.

You can also use the API to upload a file to a web page - WITH metadata (one shared license).

Or, you can use Forms to upload a file - with metadata- and a minimal license (not full user).
