Question

Database lookups not populating

asked on August 27, 2021

I saw the earlier post like to below from four years ago and wonder if there have been any updates.

We went live district-wide with a new process yesterday in which our assistant principals are using forms to upload scanned discipline referrals to the repository. I have a lookup that queries a table and displays the list of a student's current school year discipline incident numbers if the employee completing the form's site matches the student's site. Some recently entered incidents are not populating in the list even though our SIS admin says that the incident database updates automatically.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening? Is there a cache someplace that needs to be cleared?

Thank you for your feedback.

John

Forms does cache the schema, but not normally the data. It is possible that if the device is offline that it could be cached because of that reason. However, I suspect that it likely is a different reason.

As it sounds like it is affecting just the one employee in the one location, I would check the location code of the one employee. Also, you may need to check to make sure that matches the code of the students.

If that is right, you should check the lookup rules to see what other data is used to select the students. There could be something that is limiting the view a bit too much.
