Help with division formula in collection

asked on August 17, 2021

I'm trying to divide two numbers provided by a lookup in a collection and put the result in another field in the same collection but I keep getting a "Calculation contains a circular reference" error no matter what I try. I've used DIV,SUM with a /, and just an = with the INDEX's and nothing seems to work. I'm attaching two screenshots of the fields and the current formula I'm using. In the field screenshot the field marked 1 is being divided by the field marked 2.

In which field are you entering the calculation? A circular reference error means that the calculation is referencing the variable/value in its own cell.

For example, if you try to reference the Extended variable in the calculation for the Extended variable, that would be a circular reference.

I'm entering the calculation in the Price field between 1 and 2.

Which version of Forms are you using?

I'd suggest going into your collection and double-checking your variable names to make sure they correspond to their labels.

I just tested the same kind of set up in 10.4.5 and received no errors.

Thank you for jogging my brain. It was not a variable that was named incorrectly but the extended field still had an old formula in it that I forgot to remove after I made a change in my lookups. Thank you again.
