Question

User is missing their stamp

asked on August 16, 2021

When a user logged in this morning, their stamp was missing. As an admin, I did not see their stamp, but another admin did have access to their stamp. From the SQL database, I found their stamp information. (stamp_id, stamp_name, data1, etc)

  1. How do I go about getting the user access to their stamp?
  2. Where in the laserfiche server are the stamp images located? (https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/userguide/Subsystems/client_wa/Content/Annotations/Stamps_About.htm)
  3. Why did my colleague have access to the user's personal stamp, while myself and the user did not have access to it?

Thanks in advance!

I think we figured it out - it was in the way the user was setup. In admin console, there were multiple active directory accounts associated with a user login. That user's AD account was removed from the LF account, and given his own account. When the user was detached, he lost access to his stamp, but other user's still on that account have access to it. I'll be working on cleaning up these accounts so that 1 AD account is associated with 1 LF account moving forward.

Hi Elven,

I would make sure the user has the See Annotations Access Right:

Aside from that, are you saying the other colleague could actually use the users personal stamp or just see the personal stamp on the page? I believe a personal stamp just means it won't be available for use by other users in the system but the users would still be able to see the stamp on documents if they have the right to see annotations.

Hope this helps!

Hi Ashleigh,

Appreciate the response. I would also expect the personal stamp to not be available for another individual to use, otherwise they might impersonate that individual. What I witnessed on my colleague's account is, he can choose the user's stamp, and make a new stamp on a document.
