Table linking variables- Version 10.3

asked on August 2, 2021

I am trying to use the custom reports feature where I need to report information from two different forms processes.  I have added both forms but I keep only getting information in my columns from one or the other form.  I can not seem to marry the two.  I am thinking I am not using the Link variable feature correctly.  Any ideas?

Are the two variables the same or similar type? If you have two processes called Process A and Process B and both have a date variable for Start date, you should be able to link Start date from each process and merge the data to the same column.

Unfortunately not, one is a drop down and only present on Process A, I thought linking it to something in Process B would allow the field to populate on my table.  Is that possible?

If you just run a multi-process report, you could add Process A and Process B and put each field in the table. It will show them both, but each would be in it's own column. Linking the variables attempts to combine the variables into the same report column, but can only be done if they are similar field types. For example if one is a drop down and the other is a single line, since they are both text, that should work.

For my example above, if I do a multi-process report with Process A and Process B that each have a start_date variable, it would look like

if you linked them, they should combine to
