Moving qfx / qex Quick Fields Session from one server to another - "Fields were removed from the template..."

asked on July 29, 2021

I'm trying to move a quick fields session I designed in a development environment to a laserfiche production server.
When I open the QXF file, the wizard has me update the new Server connection then proceeds to import the classifications, etc., but for each classification it stops with a warning /!\   that "Fields were removed from the template" and lists four of the fields with check boxes and the heading "Choose which fields to keep as independent fields"
How do I resolve this?
Also, it retains all the previous server locations for logs, etc. Is there something I am doing wrong making the project less portable?

Are you changing the repository to the production one? If yes, do the templates used have the same fields as the ones on your dev server?

I already moved the templates to the production server, so they are all there with the same names.

I just rechecked the Admin console and saw that some of the metadata field names had been replaced with the same name but (2)  Ex: Address1 (2)

Yes, that was going to be my next question. If the field types and lengths don't match exactly, you may have duplicates when you move the template.

You can either fix the template definition and reopen the session or you can map the fields in the session to the renamed fields in the template.
