Hi Barry,

There are no plans to offer Laserfiche Scanning for MacOS at this time. The current implementation makes heavy use of Windows-specific APIs so a MacOS version would effectively be an entirely new piece of software. While we recognize this isn't ideal, the reality is that Mac users are a very small percentage of Laserfiche users, and Mac users who need local scanning are a very small percentage of those.

We suggest MacOS users scan locally and then upload the digital files to the repository normally. If any post-processing on the scanned images is required, use Quick Fields Agent or Capture Profiles to reprocess them after import.

If there's a specific process behind the scanning request you don't think the above would address, I'm happy to try to provide other suggestions if you can provide additional details.

Cheers,
Sam

Good Afternoon Barry,

I'm not sure if the scanner you're using comes with it's own scanning software or not, but we scan documents into Laserfiche almost daily, and with our scanners we ran into issues with the scan function in Laserfiche crashing and just not letting us scan things at all. But Laserfiche does have a function that allows you to use the scanner software that came with the scanner itself if you configure Laserfiche to use the software when you select the scan function.

If you select the scan option in the repository, once the scan window pops up if your scanner is connected and all drivers are installed you should be able to hit "File" and select "Scanner Options" from there you should be able to elect to use the default scanner software that was provided with your scanner, as shown in the screenshot below.  If done correctly this should allow you to scan directly into Laserfiche using the scanners provided software .

Hope this helps :)
