Customize Columns in Public Portal

We are just starting to utilize the public portal.  I have setup a folder in the portal and in this portal, I want to show two columns (File Name and Date Created).  I can customize this as an authorized user; however, I cannot figure out how to set this for the PublicPortalUser.

If you customize a user's preferences to how you want them, then go into Public Portal Designer -> Public user

you can then import the columns from a user
