Single sign on through embedded forms

asked on July 19, 2021 Show version history

Is there a flag or trick to using single sign on through an embedded form?

We have a custom tab in WebAccess simply pointing to a starting form.  If the user is not signed into forms, the tab loads with the sign in page.  When clicking Windows Authentication is quickly flashes and does nothing.

If they open the URL in a new tab and click Windows Authentication it signs in fine.  They then have to go back to WebAccess and open/close the document or refresh to get it work.

Thanks,

Chris

Are both Web Client and Forms configured to use the same LFDSSTS endpoint?

If they are, users should never see the login page for Forms at all because they'll have an existing valid STS token from the web client login.

If the answer to the above is "yes", you're most likely running into a samesite cookie issue from some security changes the major browsers made a while back. Try upgrading the customer to the latest versions of LFDS, Forms, and Web Client (either 10.4.x or 11) which include fixes for said cookie issues.

Thanks Sam, upgrading all those items will take weeks or more to get their IT involved.  I guess I'll see if we can get started on that.  Manually modifying config files simply always breaks everything, maybe we can get them on board.

Welcome. Yeah, I'd pursue the upgrade. No real way around it, and there are a bunch of security and performance fixes in the latest I'd consider important to catch up on regardless.
