Question

Cloud Workflow - Search Repository with multi-value token

asked on July 19, 2021

Hello,

We're working on taking an on-prem solution to Cloud and part of it is taking a multi-value token from a starting entry, using a For Each Value loop on that multi-value token, and running a Search Repository activity that uses each value to find entries that we want to create a link with. This multi-value token typically doesn't have more than 3 or 4 values.

In Cloud, the Search Repository activity doesn't give me the option to select the "current value" from the For Each Value loop - I can only pick from tokens that pertain to the starting entry. One of those would be the multi-value field in question, but I need it to find any document of a specific template that contains any one of those multi-values in a field. Is there an alternative way to set this up? Totally get it if not - can't have a workflow in Cloud iterating through a million values and potentially going nuts.

Thanks!

I had a confusion in Cloud where the For Each activities were not listed in the proper order, they were listed in Alphabetical order, and it caused me to pick the wrong For Each loop and think that "Current Value" was not listed as a sub token.

Your For Each Value loop should have an option of Current Value in the sub tokens regardless of what you used to populate it.

Hi Chad,

It's my Search Repository activity that's missing the tokens I'd expect to see from the For Each Value loop. "Entry" is the only set of tokens it allows me to pick from. Sorry, I probably wasn't very clear in what exactly I was looking for in my original post.

Hi Chad,

I have no actual idea what I was looking at earlier. You're right, it's totally there for me to choose from in the token list. Oops!

Thanks!

Sounds like the same problem I ran into, I created a post just like this asking why For Each Value doesn't include Current Value and found it was just the strange order that throws you off really easily.
