Now Available - E-Signature Request Process Template with Built-In Adobe Sign Integration

posted on July 9, 2021 Show version history

Now released for Laserfiche self-hosted customers through the Business Process Library, leverage an e-signature process template including a built-in Adobe Sign integration step to automate the full signature request process. From the creator of PDFs, Adobe Sign has processed more than 8 billion transactions from millions of signers around the globe.

With this release you can:

  • Go beyond internal approvals and automate e-signature requests from external parties.
  • Maintain document integrity with Adobe Sign’s industry-standard security practices.
  • Launch the provided workflows integrated with Adobe Sign from other workflows or processes without requiring coding effort.

This new Business Process Library template is called "External Signature with Adobe Sign" and is included for self-hosted customers who have Laserfiche Forms 10 and above. The template also requires Laserfiche Workflow. Laserfiche Cloud support is planned for a future release. Please upvote this post if you are interested in Adobe Sign for Laserfiche Cloud.

My company noticed the process in our BPL a month or so ago and we downloaded the files for this.  I have tried to import the workflows and when I use the Wizard, the connection profile seems to only apply to the first workflow in the list.  Thus it throws all other workflows into error with the "A Connection Profile must be Selected."  Even when I select the new connection profile, still doesn't clear the message and I don't have an option to refresh.  The only thing I found to do was to actually recreate the step that is in error.  Essentially we'd have to rewrite the workflows to account for this error.  Is there any way we can get past this? It should also be noted too that I first tried to import all of the workflows from the External_Signature_with_Adobe_Signt-Workflows10.2 file and then export them individually and reimport them one by one, selecting the new connection profile with each and that didn't work either.

Hi Taunya! The Laserfiche team is actively working against this issue and correcting it. We expect to release an updated set of files very soon. I'll update here as we have a firm date target.

Hi Taunya,

We have updated the files in the Business Process Library to correct the Connection profile error for the other workflows. You can redownload the files and reimport to avoid having to rewrite or manually update the workflows. You can let us know here if you have any other issues or questions. Thanks for reaching out!

Hi, I am looking for the process to download it, but it does not appear in my library.

Thanks

Are there any plans to add this functionality to Laserfiche Cloud?

I really like this integration and have been testing it out. There were errors in running the sample unless this path was hard wired "Save To Laserfiche Path" in the UI.

But, I need assistance. I am not very experienced with workflow and I would like to invoke the workflow ('[AdobeSign]-Signature Process Flow'  from documents in a repository folder. I am assuming once this workflow is invoked the rest of the processes follow what happens with the Laserfiche packaged example? Need assistance in figuring out the required parameters and how to assign those (maybe use template fields?). I also would like to use a set of Adobe Sign Templates, so I need to pass this variable too. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks!

So, I think I got it all figured out. Great integration by the way, love it! So, one of the issues is that in one of the workflows, in searching for documents that are 'out-for-signature', the search syntax includes 'Cancelled' but the field is filled with 'Canceled' (or vice versa, anyway, there was a disparity), this difference was throwing me off. It was a quick fix.

I was able to have forms create a document in Laserfiche then I ran the workflow from that folder thus eliminating the need for the user to manually upload the pdf. I am heavily using Adobe Templates but this was easy to pass as a variable to the workflow. So, really good work Laserfiche dev on this integration. Client loves it!

Hello,

We are wanting to try the Adobe Sign Integration but i'm currently getting the following error ({"message":"The file cannot be downloaded from the Business Process Library at the moment. Please try again later. [LFF2606-CannotDownloadFileFromBPL]","exceptionType":"Laserfiche.Forms.CommonUtils.Exceptions.LFFormsException","errorCode":"2606","entryType":"1"}) when trying to download the files under 1. However I can import the process with no issues. Is there another way to get these specific documents to import and read?

External Signature with Adobe Sign-Workflows

External Signature with Adobe Sign-Repository Briefcase

External Signature with Adobe Sign-Documentation

Thanks! :)

Hi Brandon, the error seems to be coming from your backend system. Are you able to download files successfully for other Solution Templates besides Adobe Sign?

Your Solution Provider should be able to access and share the files with you directly as well.

Thank you Ian. I am a new administrator to the team, and it maybe that I wasn't given all the permissions yet to download the files or possible firewall security settings. I will work with CDI and see if they can get me the files.

Thanks for your quick reply! :)

The only template I see related to Adobe is called "Automate Adobe Sign External Signatures from Laserfiche." Is that the right one, and is it compatible with v11? I'm on Laserfiche 11 with Forms Professional, but I get a message stating the process is only available for Forms Professional.

Depending on your answer to the first question, will this work with the modern forms?

Thank you!
