Question

Web Client-Cookies not enabled for Website

asked on June 10, 2021

Hello,

We have a customer who just update their Chrome Browser to V91 and now they are getting the Cookies are not enabled for this website.

We saw this issue with Chrome 80 and updating customers to WC 10.4.2 Update 1 resolved this issue (KB Link below).

https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1014094/additional-configuration-for-chrome-80

I updated this customer to WC 10.4.2.347 (Update 3) and they are still hitting this issue.

We also knew that you could go to Chrome:Flags settings and disable SameSite Cookies, but with the update to V91, Google removed that option:

https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/111426858/after-version-91-update-how-do-you-disable-samesite-cookie-options?hl=en

Anyone else having this problem with Chrome V91 and WC 10.4.2??

Appreciate the feedback,

Jeff Curtis

Are you using https everywhere? Are you trying to embed in an iframe? Is there anything unusual about your setup?

Hello Brian,

Thanks for your reply.

Customer is not using HTTPS Everywhere.

This is an iFrame in the Salesforce Application.

Nothing unusual.

Customer did reply that they found another workaround, but it looks like this might be temporary:

Appreciate any feedback,

Jeff Curtis

Hi Jeff,

Did you end up finding a solution for this?

I can't speak for Jeff, but there aren't any known problems if you are using https for all connections and are using the latest release of web client.

I have a client that is on the latest update of Web Client 11, they have it configured to use TLS/SSL, and when accessing Web Client it has a valid certificate. They are still getting the message "Cookies are not enabled for this website." message when trying to login to Web access from Chrome/Edge. If the client logs into web client first, then accesses Laserfiche through the iFrame, there are no error messages. I've been making adjustments to the web.config to no avail. Are there any new suggestions I can try to get this working without that error message?

The Chrome dev tools will often tell you why it is handling the cookie the way it is, which should give you information about what you need to change.
