Question

How do I change a Form Designer form to a Classic Form?

asked on June 9, 2021

Just as the title suggests. How can I convert a new form designer form into a classic one? I remember seeing in some older documentation that this was possible.

You cannot convert a form built with the new designer back into a classic form. You can create a new form with the classic designer and bring the variables onto it, but it cannot be converted. As of Forms 11 update 1 (released yesterday), you can convert classic forms to the new layout designer. We only support converting forward, not backward.

What does it do with java that is on a classic form if we convert it to a new designer form?

The new designer does not yet support JS so it is not carried over to the converted form. It will still remain in your classic form, but it won't be carried over to the new layout form.

We are working on adding JS support in the new form designer, but it will work a little differently than the classic JS support. Even when we do add support, CSS and JS will have to be redone when converting a form.

I was wondering if there are any plans on printing some instructions about where to find the setting to convert it?

For those who stumble across this. It's deceptively simple.
