Question

Laserfiche Web Client

asked on May 21, 2021 Show version history

Hi Everyone;

Can I ask about Laserfiche Web Client and it's possible to integrate to a public portal site using only its URL? and it's possible for a single sign-on setup.

Here is a scenario.

People outside of our organization want to view public documents that we allowed to view in Laserfiche Web Client. We want our Laserfiche web client linked to our public site so that people outside of our organization can access the file.

My questions;

1. Can I link the URL of Laserfiche Web Client to our public site?

2. If people outside of our organization, click the link, they must automatically sign in to our Laserfiche Server and saw the folder or file that we allowed to see in public. This can be done in a single sign-on setup?

Thanks

Yes, you can do that in general. But public users outside your system won't have credentials to enter, will they? Single sign-on just means that they only enter their credentials one time and they are shared across systems. They still need to have credentials to enter, and they need to have a license allocated to them. For the scenario of making documents available to the public, Public Portal is the more appropriate solution, since you can configure it so that users don't need credentials.

Seconding that this type of use case is exactly what Laserfiche WebLink/Public Portal was designed to address. I recommend reaching out to your Solution Provider/Laserfiche Sales contact to discussion options.
