In the new forms designer, one calculation doesn't seem to be working the same

asked on May 19, 2021 Show version history

I am trying to create a form that was in the old designer, in the new designer, but the same calculation that was working, doesn't seem to do anything. It is just a simple SUM function.

This is the from the classic form and it works.

And on the new one same thing, even re-created the rule to see if the syntax has changed

My other complex calculation is working straight from the other form, but this super simple SUM function doesn't appear to be working at all.

No calculation error either.

Hi Chad, is the field set to Read Only? I've experienced some unexpected behaviors when read only was checked in the Modern Designer.

How crazy. I literally just logged back in, had to uncheck, save, re-check read-only and re-save.

Now it works. Thanks!

Or maybe not exactly, it is actually not working when I re-check read-only. But it does work if I uncheck read-only. The problem is I have to check read only and I do have other read only fields that are read-only and use calculations successfully.

Did you happen to edit a Variable Name after you created it? I have found that if you do that in Variable management, that it too can cause issues using a field in a calculation. In that case I have had to delete the field and variable, and create a new one and try it. A bit of a workaround until it gets addressed. (FYI, This was in Cloud)

I deleted the entire variable and started from scratch. Still can't set it to read-only without it always appearing blank instead of showing the calculated value.

I am running into the same problem now. Did anyone find a resolution?

Laserfiche fixed this on the backend and I confirmed that it was working. It should no longer be an issue. It was only for read-only calculation fields in the new forms designer within the Cloud version.
