Annotations Not Displayed in Windows File Explorer Preview or Web Browser

asked on May 12, 2021

Annotations on Laserfiche images display properly in the PDF viewer application, but not in Windows File Explorer preview or a web browser.  Applying a stamp, text box, highlight, and redaction to an image in Laserfiche.  All annotations are viewable when opened in a PDF viewer application.  Viewing the same file in Windows File Explorer preview, displays the stamp and redaction.  Viewing in a web browser, such as Google Chrome, displays the stamp, highlight, and redaction.  The text box does not display in either.  Printing the PDF document using Microsoft Print to PDF, then previewing the printed document in File Explorer or opening in Chrome, displays all the annotations.  Is this expected behavior?

This is not a Laserfiche issue. Not all PDF viewers display all PDF annotations. This Chromium issue might be the cause of what you're seeing in Chrome's built-in PDF viewer.

Good Afternoon!

I too have a client experiencing this issue.  Print PDF from Weblink on a document with annotations works in Internet Explorer, but no other browser, including Chrome.  No settings I have adjusted seem to work.

Hi Barry,

For what it's worth, I think we are having the same issue.

We are experiencing the added issue that when court files are being imported into a third party application used by the prosecuting attorney, JWorks, the annotation background is getting changed to black.

I have tried multiple setting configurations in the Email attachment properties.

I hope we can get some feedback from Laserfiche on this.
