Color Removal in Quick Fields

asked on May 7, 2021 Show version history

Is it possible to keep the same template information for documents when using Quick Fields Color Removal function?

I found where you are able to set a template, but the documents we are removing color on have multiple different templates and fields.  Any info or guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

You can set your document class to merge documents back into the original and not send any metadata. See the help file.

It depends on the processes you are using. Certain tasks like sand and fill/smoothing require a bitonal image, and you can add color removal to OCR or Bar Code as a local enhancement if you need those functions.

However, I was quite impressed recently that OCR and Bar Code recognition worked on color and grey scale documents, as well as bi-tonal, in the same document class. In most cases it actually worked better without any color conversion at all.

We've got some documents that were scanned in color on accident, so I'm going through and removing the color using Quick Fields Color Removal function.  These documents have all sorts of different template information and after you retrieve, remove color, and store, we would like to still have the same template and info as before.  If you select "No Template", it clears it.

Also wondering if there is an easier way to do this without having to move all of them to a specific folder and then move back to where they were.  Thanks!
