Question

How to make Entries searchable by text?

asked on April 27, 2021 Show version history

So we have some employees who have been storing their meeting notes in LF as Word Documents, however, they noticed that when they search for a word or phrase from that document it doesn't come up but tons of older ones do.

How do I make it so all the documents are searchable based on words and phrases included in the document itself?

edit : for reference if I look up the word Dexis I get a single result from 2016

But if I manually dig for it I can find documents that have the word Dexis in their text but aren't included in the search.

Hi Timothy,

Check if you are searching in the current folder or not and if you checked the "text".

Uncheck "Current Folder" and check "Find Text"

Did you check in the Administration Console to make sure that Indexing is running?

I believe so. I went and checked and it seems to be actively indexing, though it's weird, I feel like there probably shouldnt be 147527 documents indexed in the last 15 minutes as I feel like that is close to the number of total documents in LF.

To note though, a second document now pops up when searching for Dexis, but it's not the one I want and it's from April of last year.

Edit : I went ahead and looked at how many documents we do have and it looks like it's about 300000, so it should take about 30 mins to index all of them.
