Workflow 11 Not Able to Use LFDS Accounts for Default Profiles?

asked on April 22, 2021 Show version history

I have two environments configured with Laserfiche 11 installed.

Environment 1: Upgrade from Laserfiche 10 where an account named Workflow was created in LFDS and added to a Service Accounts group. The Service Accounts group was added in the Administration Console and given full rights and privileges as well as given full access rights in the repository. I was able to create a default profile in the Workflow Designer using the Workflow account without any problem.

Environment 2: Fresh install of Laserfiche 11 using the Deployment Toolkit 1.0.4. An account named Workflow and a group named Service Accounts that it belongs to were created by the Deployment Toolkit. I added the Service Accounts group to the Administration Console and it was given full rights and privileges as well as given full access rights to the repository. When I try to add a default profile in the Workflow Designer using the Workflow account I receive the following error:

I'm not sure why this works in one environment and not the other. I have verified that a Workflow account does not exist as a repository account in environment 1. If I add a repository account in Environment 2 it works correctly.

Figured out the problem. In LFDS the account was set to use MFA. After turning it off for the workflow account I was able to add it correctly.

Are you typing it in as <username>@lfds in the profile configuration?

For Environment 1 I do not need to use workflow@lfds for it to work.

I just tried that for Environment 2 and it still fails.

Same LF Server version in both cases?

I was about to write back with a 'yes', but it is not the case.

Environment 1:

  • LFDS 11.0.0.981
  • LF Server 11.0.1.275
  • Laserfiche.Workflow.Service.exe 11.0.2102.264

Environment 2:

  • LFDS 11.0.0.981
  • LF Server 11.0.0.206
  • Laserfiche.Workflow.Service.exe 11.0.2102.264

I am not sure how Environment 1 got a newer version of LF Server.

I discovered why the LF Server versions are different. I applied LF 11 Update 1 to environment 1 and not environment 2. The interesting thing is that the KB article for that update does not mention updating the Laserfiche Server, just the Web and Windows Client's.

After updating environment 2 however, the error is still present.
