Question

Public form but internally approved

asked on April 20, 2021

Hello All,

Quick question before I start moving stuff around. I have Public Portal on a server. I also have an internal Form server. They are both using their own DB. The public portal server hasn't had a need for approvals yet but now I'm looking at doing a process that I will have my folks approving. Right now, when they get the email notification that there is a form to approve, the link in the notification email is going to the public server and my user is having to log in. (No automatic authentication). My internal form server is set up with auto-login and it works great for the process I have there. The question I have is if I change the DB connection on the public server to use the DB that the internal server is using when the email notification goes out to a user that there is a form to approve, will it still be the public server?

This option does not let me specify which server. If I change my public form server to use the DB that my internal server is using, how can I ensure my users get to use auto-login when getting into Forms for approvals via this notification?

Thank you.

Hi Lucas,

When multiple forms servers are sharing a common database you specify on the forms configuration page which server is the primary.    Links in the email task notifications will use the primary server.

That makes sense! Thanks, Andrew, I'm going to give this a try.
