Question

Forms - Readonly fields for submitter then writeable for approvers.

asked on April 19, 2021

Hello.

I have a process where a user starts a request then it goes to a Manager for approval/reject and if the Manager approves it then it goes to an Executive to also approve/reject.

The Manager and Executive need to write their name and date then click Approve.

What I want to do is to have the Manager and Executive fields readonly for the submitter. Then only make the Manager fields writeable, but not the Executive and finally make the Executive fields writeable.

Process goes: Submitter -> Manager -> Executive

I have attached some screenshots. Please let me know if I need to provide more information.

Thank you.

One option is to make copies of the form for each case.

Once the form is ready, you can create a copy of the form and make all the fields read only for the initial submitter. Make another copy with only the executive fields read-only for the Manager user task. Then use this form with all fields editable for the Executive user task. With each form, you can determine exactly which fields are read-only.
