Entries randomly stay locked after users close them, and now workflows are running on them

I'm just keep running into strange stuff like this and I gotta say it's really starting to give me a headache.

 

Entries will just stay locked for no rhyme or reason. Workflow isn't interacting with them, users don't have them open, they don't show as "Locked Entries" in the administration console, but the workflow that keeps trying to to act on them is insisting lockage. Any insight?

Hi Addison,

Just some shots in the dark here.

Can you post a screenshot of this workflow? Curious if there might be an activity that acts on these documents prior to your Assign Field Values activity that is potentially using a different connection profile or something weird like that.

I know you said Workflow isn't interacting with these documents - do you know that for sure? For any one of these documents, can you run a search in Workflow based on that entry ID and verify that no other workflow is acting on that same document? If you've already done so, disregard.

Otherwise, I guess I'd take a look at these documents' "lives" in Laserfiche so far - how are they coming into Laserfiche and what has happened to them previously. For example, I've had instances where I have Import Agent bringing documents into Laserfiche, with Workflow immediately acting on them. Sometimes Import Agent would still have the document locked when Workflow went to act on it, causing me to receive a similar error. Could anything like that be happening here?
