Question

Connecting Forms 11 to Azure SQL

asked on April 12, 2021

Good day ,

We host our SQL DB in Azure and can connect to it and run our production environment for Workflow, Directory Server and Forms 10.4.5  with no issues.

In our test environment we installed Forms 11 and connected to the same production Forms DB and received the following error -

Laserfiche Forms requires SQL Server 2014 SP3+, 2016 SP2+ or later. [LFF3602-UnsupportedSQLVersion]

The SQL is currently version 2019. Has anyone had issues or success in using Azure SQL with the latest Forms version?

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Forms should work with Azure SQL, while we missed to take Azure SQL into consideration when implementing SQL version check in Forms 11.

I have filed a bug for this(316798) and will fix it in upcoming Forms release, targeting in mid of May. Is it okay for you to stay 10.4.5 until then?

Good day Ziyan Chen,

Thank you, would this bug be just for Forms or all LF products as I'd also like to begin updating LF Server and WF

Regards

Ian

Let me get back to you on this after checking with LF Server and WF team.

For the bug in Forms, we are planning to release an individual hotfix for this issue before next release comes out. Will update more information when it is available.

Hi Ian,

Could you run

SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion')

on Azure SQL and post the result?
