How Does Workflow Send Emails?

We are currently troubleshooting an error with Workflow receiving a '4.7.0 timeout waiting for client input' message.

Does Workflow create a temporary location that it uses when creating emails and sending emails using SMTP? We want to make sure that their antivirus software has the appropriate exceptions.

It sounds like your mail server requested additional information, which is not expected.

Is this a new install? Are you using O365? Are you using a mail relay?

  1. Not a new install. Workflow was installed in January 2020.
  2. The exchange server is O365
  3. Yes, there is an SMTP relay server that Workflow is configured to use.
