Forms 11: Can't Add More than 1 Row Label when Using Fixed Number of Rows

asked on April 4, 2021 Show version history

In the new Forms 11 designer, if you select to use a fixed number of rows and then set it to a number higher than 1 it does not give you the option to set all of the Row Label values for those rows like it does in the Classic designer:

This function has been brought to the new Form Designer in Forms 11 Update 3.

There are few of our customers requesting for this. They were using it in the classic form.

Would be great if we could have this.

Thank you.

Do you use that feature often? We didn't bring that in as a high-priority item for the new designer and were waiting to see if designers noticed.

We don't use it a lot, but we do use it in various projects for different reasons.

I was working on a project over the weekend where I converted all of the forms in the process to the new designer except for 1 because of it not supported the multiple row labels.

I have a similar situation as Blake. It is a useful feature that we also don't use very often but is used in some of our forms. Unfortunately, the forms that use this feature do heavily rely on it. Not having it available is going to cause us to have to redesign some of our forms completely as we convert our processes to v.11.

Jumping in on this, we use it in many of our Forms and are waiting on this feature to finish converting all of our processes to the v11 designer because we don't want to have to redesign it. We have used look-ups to auto-populate rows in some of our forms, but we have a few that the look-up is prohibitively slow. This was one of the first disruptive differences we found, and are desperately hoping you are able to bring it back. Thanks!

We use this all the time when we are creating tables, not sure why this would have been removed.

So, does anybody have a workaround for this?

The only workaround we've found is to create the list of labels in SQL, and use a look-up to populate that list in the first column of your table. As I noted above, though, if you have a lot of rows, it can be prohibitively slow, so be sure to test in your environment. We're still hoping LF is able to bring this feature into Forms 11 soon!

Has there been any updates on this? We use tables quite a bit too and it would be nice to be able to have the different row names.
