Question

Making Connector work for all users of server

asked on March 24, 2021

We have an accounting application running as a Windows Forms application on a server. People access the server via RDP. We have connector installed on the server, and I have it configured so the button shows up on the application when I run it, but it doesn't work for other users on the server.

Is there a shortcut to propagating the configuration work I've done so that all users will see the LF connector button, and have it work using the profile I've set up?

Oh, I just realized, have you set the "load files from the following path" (below screenshot), and move your profiles under that path? If not, by default, the Connector profiles you created will be put under %APPDATA%\Laserfiche\Connector\Profiles, to be more specific, it potentially would be like C:\Users\timothy.wade\AppData\Roaming\Laserfiche\Connector\Profiles, and other users cannot load profiles under your AppData.

Therefore, please try to move the profile under a public place and input that public place in "load files from the following path" field.

Hi Timothy,

"but it doesn't work for other users on the server", do you mean other users log into the same server where you have installed and configured a Connector profile, you can view the L button on the target application, but other users cannot?  In my test, the L button appears in a similar situation. If this is your case, I'd recommend you create a support case with your solution provider so that we can investigate further.

In case you need this information, by default, the profiles are saved under %APPDATA%\Laserfiche\Connector\Profiles

Yes, you've got the right idea. It's an RDP server. If it works for you, that's useful information for me. I'll test again, then reach out to our VAR.

Thanks!

Yes, thank you--that's exactly what I needed. I moved my answer marking from your earlier answer to this one. I think that's likely to be helpful to someone else in a similar situation as well.
