Question

Save to Laserfiche is not working for just one field

asked on March 5, 2021

I'm using Save to Laserfiche in Forms (there's only one in my process) but it's not saving the data from one field:

It's a multi-value field:

I use it in a template:

It is a dynamic field:

and is a field group:

I have lots of other field groups that work properly. It's just the Address Type. I've gone through it with a fine tooth comb. I've also deleted fields and recreated fields. Didn't work. Anyone else ever have this happen?

This user escalated the issue to the Solution Provider, and we worked with her to determine the issue...

Forms was mapping the variables to the fields correctly on save, then Quick Fields was picking it up and that's where the issue was caused. There was a slight misconfiguration in Quick Fields that was changing the variables from what Forms originally mapped, resulting in the incorrect and/or blank fields.

The QF session was corrected, and this issue has been resolved.

Is it failing to save to the repository (suspending the Forms instance), or is it saving successfully just with a blank value in that "Address Type" field?

Successfully, with just one blank value in that "Address Type" field.

It looks like that is a required field, so it wouldn't be possible for Forms to map that template without placing SOME value in that field (that would result in a fail to save and suspension).

That tells me that instead of mapping nothing to that field, it appears to be mapping a variable with a blank value to that field (and a blank must be present in that dynamic list).

It may be a variable adjustment needed with that field mapping in the "Save to Laserfiche" task.
